More than a year after the state legalized marijuana, The first recreational marijuana dispensary opened, in New York , Manhattan on Thursday. An AIDS and homelessness-fighting non-profit opened the dispensary. The first licenses would go to business owners who have previously been arrested or convicted for marijuana-related offenses, according to New York lawmakers who legalized marijuana in March 2021.
